First and Second Day of School
Yesterday was the first day of school. I spent the whole morning pushing down my socks, and the rest of the day doing that, too. Anyway, the teachers are quite okay, none of them are quirky or whatever. Michelle started telling Nicole and Liang Xuan and me after about her brother's antics, of which I shall not mention on this site, but, they were humungously disgusting. Seriously. All of us were laughing, and I mean, laughing. Seriously. So that day passed quite well.Today was fine too, we decorated the notice boards, and all. But I do have one other priority for this year, and by not messing up I mean not slacking, because I really can't slack this year. And also I finished 'Fairest' by Gail Carson Levine. Now Gail Carson Levine is one of my favorite authors, besides Patricia Reilly Giff. Honestly, both these authors are awesome, truly. By Gail I've read Ella Enchanted, the one which spell binded me first, Fairest and The Two Princesses of Bamarre and by Patricia I've read Pictures Of Hollis Woods and Lily's Crossing. Words aren't enough to convey the awesomeness of these authors and their books, you only have my word. I read Ella Enchanted twice, it was just so good! And I intend to read all the other books by Gail. Now from the three books by her that I've read, (I'm not so sure about the rest) I can gather from Fairest and Ella Enchanted that Gail likes to take the plot of a fairytale and twist it into something else which still possesses the plot and beauty and power of the fairytale, but yet is something else in itself. Patricia's Picures of Hollis Woods is about a young girl, abandoned from birth, who has found a good foster family, but runs away from them for fear of hurting them. Lily's Crossing is about a little girl living in America, and her father's promise, a boy come for the summer, and living in the World War II. The Two Princesses of Bamarre is, like all the others written by Gail, awesome and indescribable. In fact, all of these books I've mentioned are indescribable.
